get your moisturizer from tara.

Did you know that The Little House Day Spa offers the best moisturizer you will find anywhere?  Many of the ingredients are organic and it could wear a Made in Nebraska label as well.  I have always understand the importance of a good moisturizer for your face.  I will not disclose how much I once spent on a single jar of moisturizer while I was living in Dallas, because my friend said it was really good stuff.  In all my travels and all my shopping, Tara Currier's Summer Soother Moisturizer is the best I have used.  Even better than the too-expensive moisturizer in Dallas.

We sell it at The Little House Day Spa for $18 per 1 oz. jar.  Like I said, the ingredients are all-natural and Tara grows the Black Elder Leaf and Yarrow herself.

Since our skin is so absorbent, it is ideal to use products on it that are free from chemicals and toxins.  A good rule of thumb is "If it isn't suitable to eat, then don't put it on your skin".  Now I am not recommending that your moisturizer needs to taste good or that you would want it for dessert, but rather that the ingredients are a safe choice for your body inside & out.

The ingredient list reads:
Olive Oil
Cocoa Butter*
Jojoba Oil*
Raw Bee's Wax*
Black Elder Leaf*
Yarrow*
Rosehip Seed Oil*
Vitamin E
Beta Carotene
Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils of Wild Carrot Seed, Clary Sage and Lavender.

*Organic

our new cards.

Our new business cards say it all.

A big thanks to Abby for designing them for us.

a little history...

It is hard to believe that The Little House Day Spa just started our third year in business.

How did it happen?  I had been a happy client of Tara Currier's for several years, though I never got massages as often as I wanted or needed them.   Then in 2010 my charming. thoughtful husband bought me a massage table for Christmas, so that Tara could provide our massages in our home.  We set the new table up at The Little House, where I had my office as a Photo Organizer & Creative Memories consultant.  When I was receiving my very first massage on my new massage table I could not help thinking to myself... "Wow, this is a perfect place to get a massage.  I wonder if other people would like getting a massage here?"

Before we knew it, we were having our inspection by the DHHS and were officially licensed by the State of Nebraska as a Massage Therapy Establishment.  And in the meantime, I was purchasing  pretty robes, yummy candles and added to my collection of beauitful sheets & blankets.  Clients started coming... and coming back.  And our clients started telling their friends.

Tara and I worked out an arrangement where she does the massage therapy, and I am the manager of the facilities.   My daughter Hannah helps with the baking and goodies we serve.  It is a match made in heaven.  Literally.  We often talk about how tickled my daddy would be knowing that Tara and I work together now - because my dad, Jerry Wallerstedt was one of her very first clients in Oakland so many years ago.

We are truly thankful for this little business that God has blessed us with... and grown.

did you know we serve refreshments?

After your massage treatment at The Little House Day Spa, we serve a light refreshment.  It varies from week to week but you can expect a fresh-baked-something with a cup of hot Black Current black tea.  You can also expect a yummy dish of greek yogurt and quite possibly some fresh fruit, or something straight from the garden.

This past week at The Little House Day Spa, Hannah baked fresh Plum Poppyseed Muffins.  We served it up with our favorite new summer appetizer Watermelon Feta Bites.  Try it for yourself.  Add some fresh cilantro and coarse ground pepper to feta cheese crumbles.  Place on top of watermelon cubes and you have a surprising taste treat.
